The NBA has begun its formal outreach for the 2026 Draft, sending out the first wave of green room invitations to 14 college and international prospects. The list includes names like A.J. Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer, all of whom are considered strong first-round possibilities. This marks the first of what is expected to be two or three waves of invites as the league continues to refine its list of projected first-round talents.
Among the 14 players named in this initial round, A.J. Dybantsa stands out as one of the more established prospects. The 6-foot-9 forward from the University of Georgia averaged 14.9 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season while shooting 36.5% from beyond the arc. His combination of size, shooting, and defensive versatility has drawn comparisons to former first-round picks like Tyus Jones and D’Angelo Russell in terms of NBA fit.
Darryn Peterson, a 6-foot-7 shooting guard from the University of Oregon, is also gaining attention. Peterson averaged 11.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game as a sophomore, with a 35.7% three-point shooting percentage. His ability to stretch the floor and create off the dribble could make him a mid-first-round target this year.
Cameron Boozer, the son of former NBA star Vince Carter, is another name on the list. The 6-foot-10 forward from the University of Texas averaged 10.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a freshman. His 7-foot-2 wingspan and high-IQ play on both ends of the floor have scouts intrigued.
The NBA reaches out to teams to determine a composite list of the 20-25 players most likely to be drafted in the first round. This first group of 14 is expected to grow in the coming months as more players declare and the evaluation process continues.
The first round of the 2026 NBA Draft is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, with the second round following on Wednesday, June 24.
