Giannis Antetokounmpo led all NBA players in the 2025-26 regular season with a Player Efficiency Rating of 32.1. Despite playing just 36 games due to injuries, the Milwaukee Bucks forward maintained his elite efficiency. Nikola Jokic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Victor Wembanyama followed in the top four, with Wembanyama making a major leap into the top five.
Giannis’ 32.1 PER is the highest in the league this season, a full 0.6 points ahead of second-place Jokic. The Bucks star averaged 29.8 points, 9.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game, proving he can still dominate at the highest level despite his limited playing time. His performance was especially impressive given Milwaukee's 2025-26 regular season record of 38-44.
Nikola Jokic remained a dominant force, finishing with a 31.5 PER. The Denver Nuggets center averaged 28.3 points, 12.7 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game. Jokic’s all-around game continues to justify his place among the league’s elite. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who had a breakout season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, posted a 30.5 PER. His 27.1 points per game and 6.3 assists helped carry the Thunder to a 46-36 record.
Victor Wembanyama made a strong case for the MVP award with a 29.5 PER. The San Antonio Spurs rookie averaged 24.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game. His defensive impact and growing offensive repertoire made him one of the most complete young stars in the league. Luka Doncic came in fifth with a 27.7 PER, as the Mavericks star averaged 28.9 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game.
Kawhi Leonard, playing in only 49 games, finished sixth with a 27.6 PER. The Los Angeles Clippers forward averaged 26.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Jalen Duren, Joel Embiid and Jimmy Butler III rounded out the top 10 with PERs of 25.8, 24.4 and 23.5 respectively. Duren’s 22.3 points and 8.7 rebounds per game were key to the Detroit Pistons’ improved season.
Victor Wembanyama’s rise to fourth is one of the most significant storylines of the season. His rookie campaign was more impactful than expected, and his future is bright. The full ranking highlights the growing depth of young stars in the league as well as the continued dominance of established superstars.
The NBA playoffs begin on April 20. Wembanyama and the Spurs will look to make a deep run while Giannis and the Bucks aim to bounce back from a disappointing regular season.
