The 2026 NFL Draft continues to take shape with Round 5 offering teams the chance to bolster depth at key positions. As teams look to fill out their rosters, prospects like Kaelon Black and Harrison Wallace III are projected to land with teams in need of running back and wide receiver talent. The Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, and Arizona Cardinals are among the teams making moves in the fifth round to address specific needs.
At pick No. 141, the Houston Texans selected Virginia running back Kaelon Black, a versatile back with 1,426 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns during his college career. Black’s 4.45 40-yard dash and 22.5-inch vertical jump make him a dynamic backup option who can contribute both on the ground and in the return game. The Texans, who drafted a starting back in Round 1, are clearly building a strong rotational core.
Tennessee went back to the tight end well at No. 142, selecting Houston’s Tanner Koziol, who put up 42 receptions for 548 yards and six touchdowns in 2025. Koziol’s 6-foot-5 frame and 225-pound build give the Titans added depth behind starting tight ends. The Titans followed up at No. 144 with Ole Miss wide receiver Harrison Wallace III, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound target who averaged 14.2 yards per catch in his final season.
The Arizona Cardinals added tight end competition by taking Eli Stowers from Vanderbilt at No. 143. Stowers, who caught 41 passes for 502 yards as a senior, is a developmental prospect with good size and hands. His 4.61 40-yard dash and 34-inch arms suggest he can eventually contribute in the red zone.
Defensive line depth was a priority for the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns. The Giants picked up Deven Eastern, a 6-foot-2, 310-pound defensive tackle from Minnesota, at No. 145. Eastern recorded 31 tackles for loss over his final two seasons. The Browns, meanwhile, selected Arkansas’ Cameron Ball at No. 146, a defensive tackle who totaled 27 tackles for loss in 2025.
As the draft continues, teams will look to fill out their depth charts with impact players who can step in immediately or develop into key contributors. With the fifth round complete, the focus shifts to Round 6 as teams finalize their 2026 rookie class.
