Fantasy football owners must be cautious as the 2026 season approaches. While some names remain on the bust radar, like Christian McCaffrey, new risks have emerged with high ADP and questionable circumstances. Here’s who to avoid in your drafts.
Christian McCaffrey, RB, 49ers (ADP: 1.06), is still the headliner of this list. The 30-year-old running back led the NFL in carries last season and has a long injury history. With a projected heavy workload and a new team, his durability is a major red flag.
Rashee Rice, WR, Chiefs (ADP: 2.04), is another top concern. Rice has faced off-field issues and inconsistency in health. He also may play without Patrick Mahomes in some games, which could limit his upside. Despite this, he’s being drafted in the second round, a price far too steep.
Kenneth Walker III, RB, Seahawks (ADP: 2.03), is being overvalued due to his Super Bowl performance. However, he split carries with Zach Charbonnet last year and faces a weak offensive line. The Seahawks lack the blocking to support a second-round RB.
Malik Nabers, WR, Giants (ADP: 2.10), is coming off a torn ACL and has additional knee complications. Rebuilding trust in a receiver with injury risks is not advisable, especially when he’s being drafted in the second round.
Travis Etienne, RB, Saints (ADP: 3.09), had a bounce-back season with Liam Coen’s coaching. But history shows that RBs without Coen typically regress. His high ADP makes him a risky pick unless he drops significantly.
Kyren Williams, RB, Rams (ADP: 3.02), is facing a 50-50 workload split with Blake Corum. This situation makes it hard to justify drafting Williams in the third round. If he falls to the fourth, it could be a value pick.

Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Panthers (ADP: 3.12), was a rookie sensation but has questionable work ethic and a shaky supporting cast. With Bryce Young under center and a weak offensive line, McMillan’s upside is capped.
Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings (ADP: 1.08), is being drafted far too high. Despite his talent, Kyler Murray’s injury history and inconsistent play make Jefferson a poor value at his current ADP.
Trey McBride, TE, Cardinals (ADP: 2.05), had an inflated touchdown total last season. With Jacoby Brissett and Carson Beck at quarterback, his production is unlikely to match last year’s.
Josh Allen, QB, Bills (ADP: 2.07), is being drafted in the second round despite deep quarterback depth in fantasy. Allen is better suited to the fourth round.
With the NFL draft and training camp approaching, owners should monitor these players closely. The next few weeks will determine who’s worth a gamble and who’s best left off the board.
