Ottawa 5, New York Islanders 2; Vegas 4, Arizona Coyotes 1; Boston 4, Montreal 2; Edmonton 3, Calgary 1. Four teams secured their spots in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Saturday, marking the fourth time in Wild Card era history that four franchises clinched on the same day. The Senators, Golden Knights, Bruins and Oilers all punched their tickets, with Ottawa and Vegas doing so for the second year in a row.
Jake Sanderson was a key performer for the Senators, scoring his 14th goal of the season and adding an assist for a three-point game. The 21-year-old defenseman is one of two Senators defensemen in franchise history with consecutive 50-point seasons, joining Erik Karlsson. Ottawa clinched the first Wild Card in the East by virtue of a tiebreaker over Boston, who also secured a playoff berth.
Jack Eichel delivered in clutch fashion for the Golden Knights, scoring the overtime winner to send Vegas into the postseason for the eighth time in nine seasons. Eichel now has 43 points in 40 games this season, and he remains on pace to become one of the fastest American-born players in history to reach 50 career playoff points. The Golden Knights have spent more days in a playoff spot than any team in NHL history since their 2017-18 debut.

The Bruins and Oilers both clinched as well. Boston, returning to the postseason for the first time since 2023-24, has been one of the most consistent playoff teams in the 21st century, making the postseason 16 times in the last 20 years. Edmonton extended its playoff streak to seven straight seasons, the fourth-longest active streak in the league. Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman and Connor McDavid lead the NHL in playoff goals since 2021-22.
With six regular-season games remaining, the race for the final Wild Card spots remains wide open. The Flyers, Capitals, Blue Jackets, Predators and Kings all earned crucial points Saturday. Zach Werenski moved within one assist of a franchise record for Columbus, while Steven Stamkos reached 40 goals for the eighth time in his career. The Kings, led by Artemi Panarin and a shutout from Anton Forsberg, moved closer to the Pacific third-place race.
