The Elite Ice Hockey League is setting the stage for a thrilling 2026/27 season as teams finalize their rosters with a mix of new signings and returning stars. The Belfast Giants, Cardiff Devils, and Sheffield Steelers lead the way with high-profile additions, while teams like the Coventry Blaze and Dundee Stars are making strategic moves to bolster their depth. With over 100 player transactions already confirmed, the league is shaping up for a competitive and unpredictable campaign.
The Belfast Giants have made the most aggressive moves, bringing in seven new players including defensemen Christian Berger and Mike Lee, and forwards Jake Gaudette and David Goodwin. Gaudette, a former NCAA standout, is expected to bring a scoring punch to a team that finished second in the league last season. The Giants also added five new defensemen, including Josh Roach, to reinforce their blue line.
Cardiff Devils are also making waves with Christian Stoever joining their net and adding Jimmy Oligny and Nick Welsh on defense. Their forward group welcomed Joey Martin and Ryan Barrow, two players with a combined 120 EIHL games under their belts. Meanwhile, the Sheffield Steelers have signed Olivier Archambault and Mitchell Balmas, both of whom bring European championship experience to the squad.
Coventry Blaze and Dundee Stars are building for the future with younger signings. Coventry added Artem Buzoverya and Matthew Gleason, while Dundee signed Keaton Jameson and Josh Nelson to their forward lines. The Blaze are also bringing in Grant Mismash, a player with high-end speed and offensive potential.

The Fife Flyers and Glasgow Clan are focusing on depth, with Fife adding Chase Dubois and Cameron Hough to their forward mix. Glasgow, on the other hand, has bolstered their defense with Juho Rautanen and Steven Seigo, while also securing Ross Armour as a top-six forward.
With 2026 training camps set to open in late August, fans will soon see how these rosters perform on the ice. The EIHL playoffs are expected to be tighter than ever, with multiple teams in contention for the league title.
