The Mets-Dodgers NLCS rematch kicks off a week packed with divisional battles and playoff implications as the 2025 MLB season continues to heat up. With standout performances from breakout stars and a handful of top-tier pitching matchups, fans have plenty to watch as the first month of the season enters its final stretch.
The New York Mets visit the Los Angeles Dodgers for a three-game series starting Monday. Despite a 11-4 record, the Mets have lost five in a row and are struggling without injured slugger Juan Soto. The Dodgers, meanwhile, are off to a strong start and boast the league's most impactful early-season performer in Andy Pages. The rookie, a key figure in the 2023 World Series title run, is leading the majors with a .429 batting average, four doubles, four home runs, and 17 RBIs.
In a NL Central preview, the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies meet for three games at Wrigley Field. Both teams have struggled with injuries and inconsistent play so far. The Cubs lost top prospect Cade Horton for the season due to right elbow surgery, while the Phillies have yet to find consistency in their rotation or lineup. Cristopher Sánchez has stood out for Philadelphia, maintaining a 1.65 ERA across 16 1/3 innings with 12.7 strikeouts per nine.
The Atlanta Braves host the Miami Marlins in a series that highlights one of the biggest early-season stories. Reigning Rookie of the Year Drake Baldwin is off to a blistering start, hitting .303 with five home runs and 17 RBIs in Atlanta's 10-6 start. The Marlins, meanwhile, have managed just one season series win against the Braves since 2010. Miami enters the series after a 8-5 start, their best 13-game start since 2020.

The Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners meet for a four-game set starting Friday in a battle of AL West contenders. The Rangers swept the Mariners in their first meeting but Seattle has since responded with a three-game sweep of the Astros. Brandon Nimmo has been a surprise star for Texas, hitting .367 with three home runs and three doubles in the early going.

Finally, the Detroit Tigers and Boston Red Sox meet in a four-game series featuring some of the top arms in the league. Detroit's Tarik Skubal is off to a historic start with a 2.22 ERA and 0.95 WHIP, while Boston's Garrett Crochet has struck out 22 batters in 17 1/3 innings. Tigers shortstop Kevin McGonigle has made a strong impression, hitting his first career home run and making a highlight-reel defensive play in his team's recent series against the Marlins.
