The Philadelphia 76ers have officially converted guard Daley Terry from a Two-Way contract to a standard NBA deal while placing guard Cameron Payne on waivers. The move comes as the team continues to fine-tune its roster ahead of the playoffs.
Terry signed his original Two-Way contract on February 10 and made 13 appearances with the 76ers, averaging 4.3 points, 1.8 assists, and 1.5 rebounds per game while logging 13.0 minutes per night. His performance with the Delaware Blue Coats was even more impactful, where he averaged 20.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. His recent production earned him a promotion to the main roster.
Selected 18th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, Terry spent four seasons in Chicago, appearing in 204 games and averaging 3.5 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He reached double figures in scoring 18 times, including a career-high 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting in a game against the 76ers on February 24, 2025.
The 76ers made the roster adjustment by waiving guard Cameron Payne. The 29-year-old appeared in 22 games this season, averaging 7.4 points, 2.6 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 17.0 minutes per game. His departure clears a roster spot for Terry and gives the 76ers more flexibility as they chase a deep playoff run.
With Terry now on a standard contract, the 76ers gain a versatile guard who can contribute off the bench while also seeing extended minutes if needed. The move also adds cap flexibility, as Two-Way contracts carry a lower salary than standard deals.
The 76ers will look to build momentum as they head into their next game against the Boston Celtics on March 5. The team will see how Terry fits into their rotation and whether his energy can help spark a playoff push.

The San Antonio Spurs edged the Dallas Mavericks 114-109 on Friday night, but the story was not the win. It was Victor Wembanyama’s 40-point, 13-rebound performance in just 26 minutes, a calculated move to reach the 65-game threshold required for regular-season award eligibility.
