The Green Bay Packers have traded wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick. The deal was confirmed by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport who also reported that the Eagles are signing Wicks to a one-year, $12.5 million extension. Wicks leaves Green Bay after three seasons with 108 receptions, 1,328 receiving yards, and 11 touchdowns.
Wicks' production declined in 2025, when he recorded just 30 catches for 332 yards and two touchdowns. That marked a sharp drop from his rookie season in 2023, when he caught 39 passes for 581 yards and four touchdowns. Green Bay's decision to trade him reflects an ongoing reshaping of its wide receiver room, which now includes Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Skyy Moore, Bo Melton, and 2025 first-rounder Matthew Golden.
The Eagles have added Wicks to a receiving corps that includes A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Hollywood Brown. This trade marks the third time in three years that Philadelphia has acquired a wideout via trade before the season, following the additions of Jahan Dotson in 2024 and John Metchie III in 2025. Neither of those players are currently on the roster, making room for Wicks' arrival.
Green Bay's move gives the Packers cap flexibility and two future draft picks while ending Wicks' tenure in Green Bay. The team is reportedly moving forward with a younger and more dynamic group at the position. Philadelphia gains a reliable target with a contract that provides value and flexibility in 2026.
Wicks' new deal is worth $12.5 million over one year, which is a strong return for the Eagles and a fresh start for the receiver. The trade also gives the Eagles depth at a position of need as they continue to evaluate their long-term plans with A.J. Brown. Wicks joins a team coming off a disappointing 2025 season and entering a new era under offensive coordinator Sean Mannion.
The Packers, meanwhile, are set to finalize their 2026 roster and prepare for a season that could define the direction of their franchise. The Eagles will look to improve their offense and remain competitive in a loaded NFC East. The deal is a win for both teams as they head into the final stretch before the regular season.
